On December 23rd, 2015, the CalFresh Outreach Team had the opportunity to spend time with some really creative kids at a holiday crafting event hosted by the Half Moon Bay Library! About thirty kids from the local area came to the library to make their own gingerbread houses just in time for the festive season. The kids had a great time using their imaginations to make beautiful, delicious structures!

The CalFresh Outreach Team brought CalFresh applications and brochures, and provided some education about the program. The families asked a lot of really great questions about how to apply and what to buy. The families also took home some cookbooks from the CalFresh team, showing all the wonderfully simple, budget-friendly meals that the families can prepare together using CalFresh dollars.

It was such a great time, the CalFresh Outreach Team plans to return to the Half Moon Bay Library on Saturday, February 6th from 9:30AM-1:00PM for more fun! If you want to learn more about CalFresh or are interested in a brief nutrition education class for your kids, feel free to stop by – we are looking forward to meeting you!
