The Human Services Agency acts as the Community Action Agency for the County of San Mateo.

The objective of the San Mateo County Community Action Agency is to provide services and resources that promote and encourage self-sufficiency to the most vulnerable members of the community.

The Community Action Agency partners with the Core Service Agencies.

The Core Service Agencies provide emergency assistance for housing, shelter, food and other safety net needs. The list of the Core Service Agencies is available at hsa.smcgov.org/emergency-safety-net-assistance-cores

Draft Community Action Plan (CAP) 2022-2023 – Public input welcome!

The San Mateo County Community Action Agency (CAA) has drafted our bi-annual Community Action Plan (CAP), which sets out our strategies to ensure that families and individual in San Mateo County have equal access to community resources that lead to and support self-sufficiency. The plan includes a Community Needs Assessment (CNA) that provides a comprehensive picture of community needs.

The plan is posted below titled Draft Community Action Plan for 2022-2023 (4-9-21).

The public comment period is from April 9, 2021- May 10, 2021.

We invite members of the public to review and comment on the CAP. Please submit any written comments by emailing HSA_Homeless_Programs@smcgov.org

In addition, members of the public are invited to attend the Community Action Agency Public Hearing on the Plan at the CAA Meeting on May 11, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom. (Zoom link will be posted below.)
