STEM Academic Centers
Academic Center (AC) provide academic tutoring and homework help to students who are below grade level proficiency in math or English. During the 2016-17 academic year, 37 ACs were located in 37 elementary and middle schools throughout San Mateo County and operated before and afterschool. Teachers and Principals often refer students to this program, though many AC have a dynamic enrollment program that meet students' current need for academic support. The mission of this program addresses the academic achievment gap for vulnerable children and supports families as we build a prosperous community.
